location: Woodcliff Lake NJ Interview: Phone followed by an in person Duration: 6 months + Description: Senior DevOps Specialist Primary Purpose and Goal: Responsible for automation of the release and build process. Responsibilities include: Product roadmap Functional and matching Technical requirements Support requirements and plans Work with ITS teams and offshore / onshore partners to manage the evolution of the product especially through the development phases. Responsibilities and Tasks: Key role in Agile team responsible for the planning, design, build, configuration and testing of all software to create the release package for the delivery of, or changes to, the designated services. You will own the entire Release Management lifecycle. The program focuses on the required synergy between people, process and technology to deliver and maintain services which meet company business needs. Subject-matter expert in Release Management, DEVOPs and SCRUM methodology. Responsible for Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise for multiple applications across various portfolios. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, software updates/patches, security improvements, Projects and Programs. Responsible for providing tool awareness and services to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production. Responsible for Implementing and managing release processes for code through development, test, and production environments Work collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their build dev/test environments. Responsible for Liaising with project leads/managers/ScrumMasters, quality assurance, operations groups and other key stakeholders on the release and delivery progress, issues and improvements. Responsible for working with IT management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments Responsible for leading the effort of defining the IT strategic direction for release management tools for IT to ensure the process requirements of release management are built in. Responsible for assisting dev teams in managing projects and interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence, Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations Responsible for producing deployment run books and Implementation Plans Work with release engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges Responsible for continually work towards making improvements in the release process Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists. Responsible for developing and delivering scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms Responsible for all documentation including content for the department website on CI/CD (DevOps) Work with ITS teams and onshore / offshore partners to determine the technical evolution and solution architecture of a portfolio of products Work with QA teams to ensure requirements-to-development-to-testing process are working optimally and that testing coverage is appropriate given the business expectation and purpose Ensure solutions are built based on standards and that they can be deployed with the environment (whether in a global or member firm environment) Work with business team to develop product roadmaps and communicate through-out the ITS community Be Accountable to functional BRMs as their trusted advisor and surpass business expectations in Technical Product Management Management and Competencies: Must have effective communication with strong leadership skills, have excellent logic and problem solving skills and a drive to make a difference. Experience managing the development, implementation and support of enterprise solutions Capable of managing internal ITS teams, contractors and onshore / offshore partner resources Demonstrated experience developing team members and being a role model Ability to work across business and technical teams Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and communicate technical information to IT professionals International experience with the ability to work in a diverse work environment across cultures and time-zones; available to travel (internationally) at short notice and host/attend international calls outside of standard working hours Qualifications: Minimum eight years experience leading enterprise solutions design and development efforts Azure / VSTS DevOps Five years of CI/CD DevOps experience Minimum ten years project experience in delivery of enterprise systems with an emphasis on globally available applications In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft platform (IIS, .NET, Web Services, SQL Server, SharePoint, Windows Server, Clustering, Active Directory etc) Good knowledge of regional issues and structures, ability to work with people from many different cultural backgrounds
