Continue schedule: 6pm 6:30am -a rotating schedule on nights 2-2-3, two on/two off/every other F/S/S. 48 hour work week, 8 hours being paid at OT rate, 2 nights on, 2 nights off, 3 nights on

Primary Duties:
Keeps machinery, equipment, and plant structure in operating condition.

Normal Sequence:
Plant equipment includes battery manufacturing equipment of all types and plant utilities.
Repairs machines, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and fits replacement parts and/or makes replacement parts as required.
Checks and repairs test instruments.
Must be able to do electrical, plumbing, heating and roofing repairs.
Must be able to read schematics and blueprints, capable of servicing and operating rectifiers, capable of operating precision hand tools and electronic equipment.
Moves equipment to new locations.
Adjusts machines for production when adjustment is beyond the scope of operator.
Modifies equipment as required. Installs new equipment including hook up of electrical power, gas, water, air, etc.
Maintains and installs piping, fittings, valves, gauges, and all types of controls for hydraulic systems, gas and air lines.
Carries out the preventative maintenance program (TPM).
Requires the ability to set up and operate lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinder, power says, welder, etc., and improvises when equipment is limited.
Designs and builds small tools and fixtures from sketches or verbal instructions.
Makes periodic checks of machines and equipment and performs preventative maintenance as required; oils, greases, etc.
Performs carpentry and sheet metal work in fabricating and repairing benches, guards, boxes, trays, etc.
Makes sketches for and builds racks, bins, shelves, and other aids to production.

Requires ability to plan and Client out work, determines accurate and efficient methods, and diagnoses and corrects difficulties to minimize production interruptions.
Required to provide hand tools and equipment to perform normal maintenance tasks.
Works under minimal supervision.
May instruct and/or direct maintenance personnel of lower classifications. May order supplies and help maintain maintenance work records.
May procure materials from secured tool crib and log-out items removed from crib as assigned.

Additional Duties:
Active participation in the High Performance Teams (HPT) system. Participate in focus groups such as scrap and safety.
Performs all other duties as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications
Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements.
