Assist the Human Resources Department in the accomplishment of tasks relative to the human resources (HR) functions for the organization including administrative tasks, duties, and responsibilities. Provide \"backup\" support for Human Resources Department front desk.
Education and/or Experience:
Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to five years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
* Provide excellence in customer service to internal (employees) and external customers/guests. * Assist Human Resources Department with conducting background and credit checks as needed. * Maintain HR Department \"confidential suspense files\" for documentation and information including FMLA and LOA; drug/alcohol test requests and results; and non-work related health information. Archive documents according to departmental records retention schedule. * Maintain \"authorized driver\" data including annual updates on all authorized drivers. Coordinate with organizational insurance agency to maintain accurate company data on all drivers. Coordinate driving record checks on current and prospective employees. * Conduct orientation class as needed; assist in the distribution, accurate completion, and gathering of new hire documentation. * Conduct and coordinate case record review with appropriate WFS personnel. Perform corrective action to files according to recommendations of Case Record Review Committee and in conjunction with HR management. * Maintain personnel files according to department policies and procedures to include periodic auditing and annual archiving process. * Update lists and prepare timecards for use each pay period at Spokane facility. * Order, receive, and maintain office supplies. * Assist with the Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) as needed. * Assist with the planning and coordination of employee relation programs, projects, and events. * Provide fill-in duties and assist with daily functions at the HR Department's front desk. * Perform other administrative duties such as filing, copying, faxing, and collating. * Review departmental procedures. Seek ways to streamline personnel and customer service processing activities. * Attend appropriate meetings, conferences, and workshops as approved or directed by Human Resources management. * Assure departmental compliance, and assist with organizational compliance of all health, safety and fire standards and all local, state and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA). * Follow all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries assuring safety of personnel or property. * Work collaboratively with Workforce and Family Services to provide client services. * Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). * Maintain a superior degree of agency confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality is cause for immediate dismissal. * Comply with all health, safety and fire standards and all local, state and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA). * Other duties as assigned.
