This is a great opportunity for someone that wants a career in the Contracts field. If you don't have the higher level experience, don't worry--We will train you!
What you will be doing:
You will provide DES contracting and procurement support/services for the Contracts and Procurement (C&P) Division. You will be immersed in contract amendments, rebids, and both internal and external contracting and procurement support/services to DES, state agencies, higher education and political subdivisions (and other municipalities). Ultimately, the goal is to keep customers satisfied and in alignment with expectations. You will be part of a project team that works together cohesively and keeps communications flowing so that customer service and overall vendor support is maintained. An essential element of the job is the ability to analyze, interpret and apply data in order to maintain strategic and tactical contracting decisions. You will be in a rapidly changing environment and will participate in a process of continuous improvement for yourself, your team, and DES.

Who we are looking for:
If you join our team, you will need to be passionate about contributing to our Washington communities. You will need to be adaptable and love to challenge yourself to be better as well as bring out the best in others. As someone who seeks creative solutions that drive change, you will have your own unique skillsets and will get to create and be a part of working teams that bring the best of our individual abilities to the table to find solutions. We need someone who won't shy away from the hard stuff--You need to not be afraid to try new things and stretch the limit. You need to be someone that is not afraid to make suggestions and can think and implement outside box. Creative ideas don't always work as we plan and that is OKAY! You and your team learn from mistakes. Trying new things is the only we to get better and implement change.

Allow us to explain why you, a skilled professional, would want this unique job:
