For our direct client in Northern NJ we seek an experienced IT Project Manager for a long-term(12-24 mo +) contract position. In this role the PM will manage application infrastructure development projects being built in MS Azure cloud. The projects involve setting up cloud-based Windows Server/IIS/SQL Server environments in Azure, using automation, PAAS and VSTS - it's an challenging and exciting role on a very important project for the client.

  • PMP certification is mandatory. Requisite experience of 15 years or more in a large, global Enterprise PMO. ScrumMaster certification or PMI-ACP is preferred.

  • Exposure Cloud (Azure) infrastructure is desirable.
    - Experience managing Windows Infrastructure projects i.e. deployment of servers, etc. is highly preferred.

  • Ability to stay calm and work under pressure in a complex, fast paced environment. Flexibility to work in an environment where priorities can change. Flexibility to work non-US time zones/weekends as needed. Ability to effectively communicate, negotiate and manage up with Partners/C-Level Executives. The individual will need to know and be capable, when it makes sense, to push back and when it makes sense to keep the client happy .there is a fine line with that. They also should also know they will not have full autonomy when it comes to running the project. This individual needs to be able to effectively influence stakeholders and articulate the value and benefits of implementing process, while building strong relationships.

  • Have thick skin and being able to effectively influence and enact change while maintaining good relationships.

  1. Leadership and Resource management skills (ability to herd cats ) - Ability to lead and manage a team of matrixed resources

    3. Agile and Waterfall methodologies

Tools:

Excellent Excel skills including Pivots and VLookups (and other Office products) is mandatory.
