A long established Moving and Storage Company is seeking an experienced Financial Controller (Chief Operating Officer) to join their growing business in Phoenix, AZ. This is a leadership role and will play a key part in the business. The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for controlling the businesses’ financial operations, leading teams and being responsible for fiscal management and risk analysis.

The idea candidate will be able to demonstrate at least 5 years previous experience as a Financial Controller / Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer. Candidate will ideally have a background within the moving services or similar industry.

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

Leading the accounting department ensuring the day to day accounting processes are followed correctly.

Managing the company’s fiscal activities, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.

Responsibility for risk assessment, ensuring that the businesses Identifies and addresses financial risk.

Identifying any financial opportunities for the company and seeking ways to reduce cost.

Preparing and reviewing financial reports

Working closely with internal stakeholders to develop strategic financial plans.

Keeping fully informed with all business-related trends, advances, and improvements.

Job Requirements:

Experience / Qualifications required for the Chief Financial Officer role:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, master’s degree, or MBA.

Experience in a senior leadership position, preferably as a Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, or Senior Financial Controller.

Demonstrated background in financial and accounting.

Background within moving services, relocation, logistics or transportation industry.

Full understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, general finance and budgeting.

Experience with corporate governance.

Experience with budget management, public accounting, and cash flow.

Leadership skills, the ability to manage, inspire and motivate.

Ability to plan and manage work effectively under pressure.
